John Wick 4 Release Date: Get Ready for the Ultimate Showdown

“John Wick 4” is one of the most highly anticipated action movies of recent times, promising to deliver more of the pulse-pounding, gun-fu action that fans have come to expect from the franchise. With Keanu Reeves returning as the titular character, fans are eagerly waiting for any news about the release date of this fourth installment. So, when can we expect to see John Wick back on the big screen? Let’s find out!

John Wick 4 Release Date

The fourth film was supposed to come out on May 21, 2021, however, it was postponed to May 27, 2022, and then again to its current release date of March 24. We hope it means there won’t be any additional delays given that the release date is only a few weeks away.

The fourth movie was filmed from June to October 2021, and a wrapped gift made it look as if the subtitle would be Hagakure, which is a reference to a Japanese text from the 1700s. However, the movie doesn’t actually have a subtitle.

As previously mentioned, the fourth and fifth movies were supposed to shoot concurrently, however, due to delays in the fourth movie’s production, that original plan had to be altered. Although the existence of John Wick 5 has not yet been confirmed, it may do so if the fourth film performs well during its opening weekend.

The official synopsis for John Wick 4, which will have John Wick facing “his deadliest foes yet,” was also made available by Lionsgate along with the first teaser. When the bounty on his head rises, “Wick takes his struggle against the High Table global as he hunts out the most powerful players in the underworld, from New York to Paris to Osaka to Berlin,” the statement continues.

Anyone who has seen the third film would not be surprised by this because, during his exile, Wick was offered the option of killing Continental owner Winston or dying. Wick decides to go back to the Continental but has no intention of killing Winston.

The Adjudicator proclaims the Continental “deconsecrated,” allowing for commerce to be conducted on the property. Understandably, the High Table—a council of criminal lords that rules everything—is not happy about this. As a result, Zero and other assassins from the High Table attempt to kill Wick, Winston, and Continental concierge Charon, but are unsuccessful.

The Continental will be returned to its previous location once the Adjudicator declares a truce, but only after Winston assassinates Wick. In contrast to Wick, Winston shoots Wick repeatedly, leading him to fall from the hotel roof.

He lives and is brought before the Bowery King in a bizarre twist that only makes sense in the universe of John Wick. The High Table sliced him seven times as a kind of retribution for his assistance to Wick in the second film, yet nevertheless, he is still alive (the Bowery King gave Wick seven bullets).

The Bowery King promises the High Table will pay, and Wick joins his cause as the film comes to a close. It appears that the subtitle for the third film, Parabellum—the name of the most popular type of bullet and loosely translated from Latin as “ready for war”—was alluding to the conflict that will be depicted in the fourth film.

We don’t yet know a lot about what will occur in the fourth movie, other than how the third movie sets up the conflict between Wick and the High Table. So we shouldn’t anticipate the broader tale to have a pleasant finish. In a May 2019 interview with IndieWire, Stahelski stated: “John might make it through all of this crap, but there won’t be a happy ending. He is without a place to go.”

John Wick 4 Cast

The most feared assassin in the world, John Wick, also known as Baba Yaga, is back as played by Keanu Reeves. Reeves’ performance as John Wick has given his career new life. Not that the actor had ceased working, but it restored him to his former prominence—a true A-list performer who can draw audiences to the theater—that he had when films like Speed and The Matrix trilogy were in theatres.

Veteran actors Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix) as Bowery King, Lance Reddick (Bosch) as Charon, and Ian McShane (Deadwood) as Winston are also back for another round of John Wick. The teaser trailer for John Wick: Chapter 4 (available below) contains a few views of Belgian Malinois, the canines Halle Berry’s character owned in John Wick: Chapter 3, which raises some questions despite her declaration that she will not be participating in the film.
