A new streaming home is coming for New Girl. In accordance with a mutual agreement between the two streaming services, the comedy series will leave Netflix and transfer to Hulu and Peacock the following month. Starting on April 17, all 146 episodes will be accessible on Hulu and Peacock.
Chernin Entertainment created New Girl in collaboration with 20th Television. Disney Entertainment distributes the show. In 2013, while studios were thrilled to get a lucrative Netflix contract for their broadcast and cable shows, Netflix snagged the streaming rights to New Girl.
It joins other 20th Television shows like American Horror Story, American Crime Story, Pose, and Arrested Development in being sent to Hulu after its license agreement with Netflix expired. As the firm shifts its attention to profitability, Disney has recently been more receptive to non-exclusive rights and selling to outside parties.
Abbott Elementary’s streaming agreement was influenced by different considerations, but Hulu is also currently streaming earlier seasons of the ABC smash comedy, this time with HBO Max. Zooey Deschanel played Jess Day, a 30-something woman who moves into a loft with three single men after a horrible breakup, in the seven-season Fox original series New Girl.
