Fans have been talking about the Tokyo Revengers anime nonstop on social media in anticipation of the highly anticipated second season, which will premiere in a matter of days. The second season has been highly anticipated by both anime and manga fans, with the latter assuring the former of the series’ great quality.
Some Tokyo Revengers anime viewers, however, are curious about the series’s status as a manga as well as an anime. The manga concluded in late 2022 after a, to put it mildly, tumultuous final arc, but the anime is undoubtedly going to continue with the premiere of the second season.
Thus, the manga is concluded, but the anime adaptation will continue till further notice. In this article, we’ll discuss the present state of the Tokyo Revengers anime and manga and provide you with all the details you need to know.
Tokyo Revengers’ Controversial Finale Only Worries Anime Fans
Manga status
On November 16, 2022, the 278th and last chapter of the Tokyo Revengers manga was released, concluding the series’ contentious conclusion.
The final arc’s divisive reception may be traced back in large part to readers’ assumptions that creators Ken Wakui and Ryo Hazuki had grown tired of the series or simply had nothing more to say.
Fans also complained about a general lack of explanation, which they felt was especially problematic in the series’ final issues. One such example is the fact that heroes Mikey and Takemichi were accidentally taken back in time. Many of their fans were outraged that they and Wakui had simply written it off as a miracle without offering any further explanation.
Several readers of the manga were disappointed that the happy conclusion wasn’t addressed in greater detail. Several viewers also found distasteful the abrupt about-faces that many characters underwent. Takemichi and Mikey’s early friendship supposedly solved their problems with dysfunctional homes and violent parents.

At least the anime version will have a lengthy and fruitful run, which is good news for fans. Among the most-watched new shows of the Spring 2021 season, the first season aired from April 11, 2021, to September 19, 2021. The popularity of the anime adaptation of the show probably played a role in the rapid renewal of production for a second season.

Not only that but there will still be plenty of good chapters for the anime to adapt even after the second season concludes. For the most part, the decline in quality that plagued the final arc of the Tokyo Revengers manga was confined to that one chapter.
In summation
Tokyo Revengers has moved into prequel/spin-off territory after the conclusion of the mainstream manga, but the anime is still going strong and will likely continue for a while. Once the manga ended, everyone was left wondering what would happen to Ken Wakui. Stream and watch the anime Tokyo Revengers on Crunchyroll and Hulu.
