Wicked Ariana BTS Photos
In the much-awaited movie version of the Wicked Broadway musical, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are preparing to make their wicked debuts. The duo posted a series of behind-the-scenes images on Instagram in order to tease what fans might anticipate in the upcoming months.
The Instagram post’s caption stated, “Up to (no) good.”
Grande and Erivo can be seen holding hands in the first black-and-white photo. The singer of “Focus” is sporting a polka-dot dress and white gloves, while Erivo was dressed in plaid. In a second picture of the pair, Grande is wearing her trademark ponytail and they are sitting in the back of a car, staring at each other. The following picture depicts Erivo and Grande kissing, while the final picture is a close-up of their shoes.
The two portions of Jon M. Chu’s movie adaption have just been accelerated, with Nov. 27, 2024, the release date for the first. The sequel is expected to be released on December 25 of the following year, 2025. In a letter from April 2022, the movie’s director outlined the reasons the plot had to be divided in two.
The letter stated, “It became increasingly evident that it would be difficult to shoehorn the tale of Wicked into a single picture without inflicting some severe damage to it over the course of the previous year as we prepared for this production.” As we attempted to omit songs or reduce the number of characters, those choices started to feel like fatal compromises to the original material that has amused us all for so long.

The cast also features Bowen Yang, Keala Settle, Marissa Bode, Brownwyn James, Michelle Yeoh, Ethan Slater, Jonathan Bailey, and Erivo, who will play Elphaba and Glinda, respectively.
