The original voice actors from the 2004 film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World will reprise their roles in the upcoming Netflix anime series based on the Scott Pilgrim graphic novels. Some of the actors who will be appearing in the film are Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Kieran Culkin, Chris Evans, Aubrey Plaza, Satya Bhabha, Anna Kendrick, Brie Larson, Jason Schwartzman, Alison Pill, Ellen Wong, and many more.
Bryan Lee O’Malley, who created the Scott Pilgrim series, will work with BenDavid Grabinski on the anime as a co-writer, executive producer, and showrunner. One of the executive producers is Edgar Wright, who directed Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.
In a press release, Wright called the original film “one of the proudest and most enjoyable achievements of [his] career.” He added, “Since the film’s release in 2010 we’ve done Q&As, remembrances and charity read throughs, but there was never the occasion to reunite the whole gang on an actual project. Until now… Original creator Bryan Lee O’Malley, along with writer BenDavid Grabinski have conjured up an anime series of ‘Scott Pilgrim’ that doesn’t just expand the universe, but also… well, just watch it. I’m more than happy to announce that I have helped coax the entire original cast back to voice their characters on this epic new adventure. You are in for a treat.”
The following articles detail the upcoming release dates for a variety of video games:
- Atlas Fallen Action-RPG Release Date Disclosed: Trailer, Gameplay and Platforms
- Destiny 2 The Witch Queen Release Date, Gameplay and All We Know So Far
Animation studio Science SARU is responsible for the remake, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World video game composers Anamanaguchi and Joseph Trapanese is collaborating on the soundtrack.
Last year, it was announced that Scott Pilgrim will be getting a new anime series on Netflix. And if that wasn’t enough to get you pumped, the original actors from the 2010 cult movie are coming back to reprise their roles.
According to Deadline’s reports, the untitled Scott Pilgrim show will be animated by Japanese firm Science SARU using CGI (Devilman Crybaby, The Heike Story, Inu-Oh). The film Scott Pilgrim Edgar Wright, who directed The World, comes back as executive director, while Bryan Lee O’Malley, who wrote Scott Pilgrim, and Bendavid Grabinski, who illustrated the book, will be the showrunners and executive producers. Scott Pilgrim, a lazy musician with a new girlfriend named Ramona Flowers, is pitted against her seven nasty ex-boyfriends in the graphic novels/film.
The primary actors from the live-action film are highlighted in the trailer above, which include:
- Michael Cera – Scott Pilgrim
- Mary Elizabeth Winstead – Ramona Flowers
- Kieran Culkin – Wallace Wells
- Satya Bhabha – Matthew Patel
- Chris Evans – Lucas Lee

Here are some more upcoming game release dates that we’ve mentioned in the articles below:
- Wuthering Waves Release Date: Gameplay Trailer Unveiled in Closed Beta
- Disney Speedstorm Release Date, Characters, Platforms, Gameplay and Trailer
Unfortunately, there is still no firm release date for the series beyond “coming soon.” Scott Pilgrim has always had a deep connection to video games, and both the graphic novels and the movie reflect that. We’d be negligent if we didn’t mention the 2021 remaster of 2010 beat ’em up Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game for current-gen platforms.
