What have we known about the Buddy Daddies episode 12 anime renewal status? The final day of the 2023 Winter anime schedule has here, and it’s been a fantastic if occasionally exhausting, run of great shows. The season 1 finale of Buddy Daddies, arguably one of the best new shows of late, will be broadcast on Crunchyroll in hours.
While it has not been officially announced that production on Buddy Daddies Season 2 has begun, fans have been begging P.A. Efforts made to keep the cute cartoon going for a second enjoyable outing.
In-Depth Analysis of Buddy Daddies Season 2 Renewal
Before the episode 12 finale airing, Buddy Daddies is in a fairly unusual position in terms of its chances of being renewed for a second season.
The popularity of the overall franchise and the availability of source material from the original manga or light novel series are the primary factors in the renewal of modern anime shows. However, unlike many other anime and manga adaptations, Buddy Daddies is not based on any existing source material.
The good news is that Studio P.A. Works, if they choose to continue the anime, could easily make a second season of Buddy Daddies due to its overwhelming popularity. An outstanding 7.89/10 on MyAnimeList, 7.8/10 on IMDB, 77% on Anilist, and 4.1/5 on Anime-Planet can be found just hours before the season finale airs.
These ratings aren’t 100% sure that the show will be picked up for a second season, but they’re probably good enough for P.A. Effective enough to maybe warrant a repeat airing. In fact, since 2018, Buddy Daddies has been Studio P.A. Works’ highest-scoring anime on MAL, surpassing even the excellent Ya Boy Kongming series from Spring 2022.
In addition, calls from supporters on social media for P.A. Production on Season 2 continue, with one fan saying, “if we don’t get a second 2 of Buddy Daddies, I will cry for at least a week” with the majority of comments being “I will cry with you….”
One fan has a theory that “I don’t see how they can resolve everything in one episode ‘apparently there are only 12 instead of the 13 announced), so either it will be super rushed, or that means a season 2! Obviously, I think we can all agree that season 2 is a better option.”
Another user posted, “Buddy Daddies Spoilers! – Looking at the E12 title screen, it’s *very* interesting to me that they used the *title* font for it. No other ep. the title has used the title font. I wonder if this is implying a 2nd season called Daughter Daddies? PLEASE! ”
If the public pressure doesn’t reach Studio P.A. Works by the conclusion of the 12th episode, an open ending can give viewers some real assurance that a second season will be made, but we’ll have to wait and see if that happens.
