We always promoted Death Note as a friend’s first anime because it was the best way to get them hooked on the genre. On the other hand, Demon Slayer has been favorably regarded by both new and longtime anime viewers alike since its 2019 debut.
The sequel, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, beat out Hayao Miyazaki’s Oscar-winning Spirited Away to become the highest-grossing film in Japan during the COVID era. The second season of this masterpiece, produced by the anime studio Ufotable, was fantastic, with action sequences that left spectators yelling in delight. This makes us ponder how the fourth season can beat the previous three.
Based on the Japanese manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, the third season of Demon Slayer is titled Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc. Despite being the author’s first book, her manga smashed numerous sales records in Japan and internationally, competing with the famed anime One Piece.
Fans are eager for more episodes of this anime after waiting over a year and a half since the second season ended. One of 2023’s most anticipated anime shows is returning for a third season, and we have all the details here.
The Next Chapter Unfolds: Previewing Demon Slayer Season 3’s Storyline
The Entertainment District Arc was the primary plot point of the second season, which featured the Sound Hashira Tengen Uzui, the leading trio of Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Zenitsu, and the antagonistic upper moon six Gyutaro and his sister Daki.
Both demons had to be killed simultaneously, making a very challenging struggle for the demon slayers. Tanjiro, on the other hand, has matured tremendously over the past century, and he and his allies finally defeated an Upper Moon Demon.
The official teaser reveals that Tanjiro travels to Swordsmith Village, a location deliberately concealed from the primary antagonist Muzan. His sword was reputedly smashed to bits in the last fierce battle, and he was permitted to visit the hamlet because his swordsmith, Hotaru Haganezuka, had grown bored of making him. He appears to have traveled without Zenitsu or Inosuke.
The upper moon, five Gyokko, and the upper moon, four Hantengu, infiltrate Tanjiro’s village to massacre the entire population. On the bright side, two of the most potent demon slayers in the town are The Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokitou and The Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji. Can Tanjiro, Nezuko, and two Hashiras who have yet to unveil their powers defeat the Upper Moon Demons?
Get to Know the Cast & Crew of Demon Slayer Season 3
Natsuki Hanae (who voices Tanjiro) and Akari Kitou (who speaks Nezuko) are returning for Season 3. The former actor is well-known for his voice-over works in anime, such as Classroom of the Elite, Suzune in Genshin Impact, Barbara in Erased, and Natsuo in Domestic Girlfriend. At the same time, the latter is known for her work in Attack on Titan, Chainsaw Man, Romantic Killer, and Summer Time Rendering.
Muichirou Tokitou and Mitsuri Kanroji will have their voices provided by Kengo Kawanishi and Kana Hanazawa. Kengo has lent his voice to several popular anime characters, including Dr. Stone’s Gen Asagiri, Deadman Wonderland’s Matayoshi, and Interspecies Reviewers’ Narugami.
In contrast, Hanazawa has appeared in more than 300 anime series, such as To Love-Ru, Angel Beats!, Blue Exorcist, The Garden of Words, and Tokyo Ghoul.
These four characters, along with Genya, introduced briefly in the first season, seem to be the center of the third. Take a peek at these supplementary actors and actresses: Douma (Mamoru Miyano), Gyokko (Kousuke Toriumi), Hantengu (Toshio Furukawa), Koushibou (Ryutarou Okiayu), Muzan Kibutsuji (Toshihiko Seki), Genya Shinazugawa (Nobuhiko Okamoto), and Hotaru Haganezuka (Daisuke Namikawa).
The series will again be directed by Haruo Sotozaki at Ufotable, with Koyoharu Gotouge, the manga’s creator, serving as the show’s chief scriptwriter. The filmmaker has worked as an animation director and critical animator on Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Tales of Zestria, Inazuma Eleven, and Mobile Suit Gundam.

In addition to his role as Chief Animation Director, Akira Matsushima works closely with Youko Kajiyama and Miyuki Satou on character designs. Composers Yuki Kajiura and Gou Shiina are returning for the series because they did a great job in the past.
The man currently performs the theme song With A Mission, which features Millet on vocals. The band is responsible for the opening and closing themes of such popular anime as Vinland Saga, Seven Deadly Sins, and Inuyashiki: The Last Hero.
