Lilo & Stitch, one of Disney’s most popular animated movies, is getting a live-action remake, nd fans couldn’t be more excited. The story of the first movie, which came out in 2002, was about a young girl named Lilo who befriends an alien named Stitch. Together, they go on a funny, loving, and family-centered adventure.
Jon M. Chu, who directed Crazy Rich Asians and In the Heights, will be in charge of the live-action remake. Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, who worked on the live-action Aladdin, will be in charge of making the movie. Mike Van Waes will write the script for the movie.
There aren’t many details about the remake yet, but fans are eager to hear more about the cast, the plot, and the release date. The original Lilo & Stitch movie has a cult following, and its message of family, acceptance, and love is more important than ever. This means that the live-action remake will be a hit with people of all ages.
Lilo and Stitch Live-action Remake
The movie, which is slated to be a major release on Disney+, is directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, the indie darling and Oscar nominee for best animated feature Marcel the Shell With Shoes On. The Hawaii-focused narrative describes the friendship that developed between a lonely human girl named Lilo and an alien named Stitch who was created through genetic engineering to be a destructive force.
The two come together over a shared sense of family and save the day in the face of prying social workers and pursuing aliens. Galifianakis’s part is being kept under wraps in the dog pound. For the actors who will play Lilo and her older sister, the studio is conducting a thorough search. Stitch will undoubtedly be a CG confection.
The adaptation’s script was written by Christopher Kekaniokalani Bright. The original film was written and directed by Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois, and despite its initial failure, it gained a devoted following that has only gotten stronger over time. Rideback’s Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich are in charge of production. Ryan Halprin, who was in Rideback, is executive producing.

The contract represents Galifianakis’ first return to studio filmmaking since the Disney-produced A Wrinkle in Time in 2018. The Hangover series and movies like Due Date made the actor and comedian a regular on television and the big screen for many years. Galifianakis has concentrated on television work since the late 2010s, co-creating and starring in Baskets for FX and doing a lot of voice acting as well.
The comedian has two films in the works and is gradually coming out of his shell. He is starring alongside Elizabeth Banks in the Apple TV+ original movie The Beanie Bubble, which is about the 1990s toy craze. He will also make an appearance in Susanna Fogel’s drama Winner, which is about whistleblower Reality Winner.
Galifianakis is represented by UTA, Brillstein Entertainment Partners, and Yorn Levine. He amassed a sizable fan base for his online talk show Between Two Ferns.
