The Idol, a new series from Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and music superstar The Weeknd, is HBO’s attempt to re-create that success.
Many people are excited to see the new show when it debuts at the Cannes Film Festival in May, an entire month before it airs on HBO.

When Will Idol Be Released?
The Idol will premiere on HBO on June 4 and will be available for streaming on HBO Max.
HBO released the official teaser and June 4 release date for “The Idol” on Monday. Spotify’s most famous artist of all time co-created the show alongside “Euphoria” creators Sam Levinson and Reza Fahim, and he stars in the lead role opposite Lily-Rose Depp.

The Idol Plot
There’s a lot of buzzes about The Idol. Here’s the official logline from HBO:
“After a nervous breakdown derailed Jocelyn’s (Lily-Rose Depp) last tour, she’s determined to claim her rightful status as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America. Her passions are reignited by Tedros (Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye), a nightclub impresario with a sordid past. Will her romantic awakening take her to glorious new heights or the deepest and darkest depths of her soul?”
The Idol Cast
Lily-Rose Depp has been a Hollywood star for a long time. Wolf, Silent Night, and Tusk are just a few of the films she has appeared in.
The Idol is Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye’s first film role. Although he has appeared in numerous music videos and even provided his voice for a Simpsons character in an episode from 2022, The Idol will be the musician’s first significant acting role.
Many of the contestants on The Idol are professional musicians who will likely play themselves on the show.
