Michelle Yeoh to Star in Star Trek: Section 31 Movie
Live long and prosper, Michelle Yeoh. Yeoh, who received the best actress Oscar last month for her work in “Everything Everywhere All At Once,” is getting ready to return to the Star Trek universe and play Emperor Philippa Georgiou once more in the upcoming “Star Trek: Section 31” film.
When the Emmy-winning “Star Trek: Discovery” TV series launched on Paramount+ in 2017, Yeoh made his character debut. The information was disclosed on Tuesday by Paramount+ and CBS Studios. Yeoh will also work on the project as an executive producer.
Yeoh stated in a press statement that she is “beyond thrilled” to reprise her part in the “Section 31” film. She added that her character, Philippa, “has been near and dear to my heart since I began the journey of playing Philippa all the way back when this new golden age of ‘Star Trek’ launched.”

It has been a year that has taught me the wonderful power of never giving up on your aspirations, so to see her finally receive her moment does a dream come true. Live long and prosper (until Emperor Georgiou orders otherwise), she continued. “We can’t wait to share what’s in store for you.”
For Yeoh, who made history in March by being the first person of Asian heritage to win an Oscar in the best actress category, this has certainly been a year of dreams coming true. That evening, “Everything Everywhere All At Once” won seven Oscars, including the best picture award and a major triumph for Yeoh.
According to an official synopsis, Yeoh’s character will be featured in “Section 31” as she joins a covert branch of Starfleet and is “tasked with protecting the United Federation of Planets and faces the sins of her past.” Later this year, “Star Trek: Section 31” will start to be produced.
