Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Season 2: When Will It Be Released?

The release of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War rekindled interest in the franchise after it had lain dormant for more than five years. Naturally, with that renewed enthusiasm comes an interest in where the series will go in the next installment.

The anime series Bleach is a bit of an outlier in the Shonen Jump universe. Bleach was a massive hit for most of its first run and was once one of the big three Shonen Jump titles, along with Naruto and One Piece. Unfortunately, the anime version of the series was stopped in 2012, years before Bleach’s manga series concluded in 2016.

This was due to decreasing audience interest. The anime adaptation of the last arc, Bleach Thousand Year Blood War, received much praise despite the series’ controversial conclusion. Many people wonder what to expect from Thousand-Year Blood War’s second installment since installment 1 of the revival ended on December 26.

On December 26, 2022, the first installment of Bleach  Thousand Year Blood War ended with a two-part finale. Immediately after the conclusion, a trailer for the second installment appeared, with a July 2023 release date.

Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Season 2 was given a name via a tweet from Viz Media on December 26: Bleach: The Separation, a Thousand-Year Blood War. Most recently, Tite Kubo, the author of Bleach, said in an interview that the second installment of Bleach will restore and animate at least one fight omitted from the Bleach manga.

However, he did not specify which fight this would be. However, it does leave room for additional removed material to be reinstated in the future, possibly later in Part 2 or even in Parts 3 or 4. The new episodes of Part 2 are anticipated to premiere first on Hulu in the US and Disney Plus internationally, similar to the previous part.

Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Season 2 Release Date

Although it did not provide a precise date within that month, the video released following the conclusion of Bleach: The Thousand-Year Blood War Part 1 stated that the series would resume in July 2023. Part 1’s subtitled episodes premiered every Monday at 7:30 AM PST, and Part 2 will likely do the same. The dub will probably premiere in late July or early August because dubbed episodes have often aired roughly four weeks behind schedule and on Fridays instead.

Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Season 2 Trailer

Following the conclusion of Part 1, Viz published the trailer for Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Part 2 on their Youtube page on December 26, 2022. But this video is not available. The teaser trailer alluded to the breakup of Uryu and Ichigo, the recovery of lost Bankai, and the true nature of Rukia’s Zanpakuto.

Being one of Ichigo’s first true friends makes Uryu’s treachery meaningful in Bleach, adding weight to the possible conflict shown in the trailer and making fans of the series nervous.

Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Season 2 Story

Bleach Thousand Year Blood War Where Part 1 left off—about a manga chapter 543—Part 2 should pick up right there. It makes sense to think that the second part will cover a comparable amount of material as the previous one, which would put Part 2’s conclusion at about chapter 600.

The first part of the adaptation consisted of roughly 60 chapters. At least one cut-down battle sequence will be included in the anime, and including material that isn’t from the manga could make the action a little less fast-paced.

Fans can anticipate that the plot will resume with Ichigo’s training with Squad Zero and dive into Uryu’s alleged betrayal by joining the Quincy Wandenreich. Other prominent Soul Reapers like Soifon, Hitsugaya, Komamura, and Hisagi are also involved in various training arcs or quests to aid in recovering their lost powers, which the anime is sure to check back in on when it resumes.
