Aquaman 2 Trailer: Amber Heard is Back in Action!

Amber Heard’s appearance in the “Aquaman 2” trailer made a stir at the CinemaCon 2023 event in Hollywood. In the new movie, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” Jason Momoa and Amber Heard will play Arthur and Mera, the heroes, again.

Even though the video hasn’t been shown to the public yet, the studio confirmed to the media on Wednesday that Heard is in it.

According to Deadline, Mera, played by Heard, shows up quickly during a battle scene in the preview. Years ago, people who liked Johnny Depp started an online plea to get Heard out of the sequel. Over 4.6 million people signed the petition.

In their high-profile defamation trial in Virginia last spring, Depp and Heard accused each other of domestic violence and abuse. This gave the “domestic abuser” petition a big boost. In the end, the jury gave Depp more than $10 million and gave Heard $2 million.

After she lost the case, Heard was upset that the overwhelming amount of proof wasn’t enough to stand up to her ex-husband’s unfair amount of power, influence, and sway.

Aquaman 2 Return Causes Controversy Among Johnny Depp Fans

Heard said in court that she almost lost her part in “Aquaman” because of all the attention her legal fights with Depp got from the media. In a video deposition, the then-president of Warner Bros. Pictures said that Heard was almost replaced because she and Momoa didn’t have enough “chemistry” on screen, not because of the Depp scandal.

Walter Hamada, the former head of the company, said that even though they had great chemistry, it took a lot of work in post-production to get there. He also disagreed with Heard’s claim that her part in “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” was cut down because of Johnny Depp. He said that Mera was never meant to be the main character in the sequel and that she and Momoa didn’t have enough chemistry.

During the trial, both Heard and Depp got both hate and support on social media, but people were more likely to be angry at Heard. “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom,” which is set to come out in theaters on December 20, is directed by James Wan.
