The record “D-Day” was released on April 21 by Suga, also known as Agust D. This is his first public solo album since “D-2” came out in 2020, three years ago. With his first solo record, “D-Day,” Suga, a popular K-pop group BTS member, has reached No. 2 on the main albums chart, Billboard 200. This makes him, along with his bandmate Jimin, the highest-charting soloist in K-pop. Jimin’s album “Face” hit the same spot last month. In 2020, RM’s first record, “Indigo,” also reached No. 3.
Billboard’s preview of this week’s chart, which came out on Monday, said that Suga’s “D-Day” launched at No. 2 with 140,000 equivalent album units, of which 122,000 were sales of physical albums. This makes him the highest-charting K-pop artist, along with his bandmate Jimin. Yonhap news agency said that the American singer Morgan Wallen‘s song “One Thing at a Time” stayed at No. 1 for the eighth week.
The chart shows how popular albums are in the US based on the number of equivalent album units sold. This covers both physical album sales and digital sales records.

“Like many K-pop releases, the CD version of D-Day came in a collectible package with a standard set of things and some random ones. It was also offered as a traditional digital download album and three digital downloads with different covers that could only be bought from the artist’s official website. Billboard said that 90% of the first-week sales of D-Day were CDs, and 10% were digital record downloads.
