The Duke of Sussex went to his father’s coronation by himself because the Duchess of Sussex and their young children stayed at home in California.

The king’s younger son stepped down as a working royal in 2020 and later moved to the US. He had not been seen in public with the royals since the release of his memoir Spare earlier this year, in which he was very critical of his father, his stepmother, Queen Camilla, and his brother, the Prince of Wales.

People say that family members still don’t get along very well, and there was some talk about whether or not Prince Harry would even go to the wedding. Sources said that the fact that the coronation was on the same day as his son Archie’s fourth birthday made the duchess decide to stay away.

The prince flew into the UK on Friday. He went to Westminster Abbey alone, wearing medals in his dark morning suit. He was sitting two rows behind his brother and right between Princess Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, and the Duke of York’s first cousin, Princess Alexandra, who is 86 years old.

Check out some of the Prince Harry news that’s made headlines recently:

Princess Anne, her husband, V.Adm. Timothy Laurence, and the Duke of Kent were sitting in the front row. The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their children, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, Prince Edward and his wife, Sophie, and their children sat in the front row.

Harry sat in the second row at Westminster Abbey, right behind Charles, for the funeral of the queen in September. During the service, when everyone paid respect to the king, Harry and the other royals around him were heard saying, “God save King Charles. Long live King Charles. May the king live forever.”

Harry didn’t take part in the walk back to Buckingham Palace after the wedding, and he didn’t go out on the balcony to wave to the crowds or watch the Red Arrows fly by.

His absence was even more noticeable because all the other working royals, such as the Duke of Kent, Princess Alexandra, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, were on the balcony. Instead, it was said that the prince’s car was seen leaving London and going toward Heathrow Airport.

Harry is still fifth in line to the throne, after the Prince of Wales and his three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. He is no longer a working prince. Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, who are Harry and Meghan’s children, are sixth and seventh in line.
