After being diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome (SPS), a rare neurological illness, singer Celine Dion is turning to music, as she always has, after releasing a new single in favor of the romantic comedy film “Love Again,” she received widespread acclaim for her unwavering dedication to her craft.
Dion, 55, made her acting debut in the film “Love Again,” she promoted it with a series of social media postings in which she delivered moving motivational remarks. She told her online cheering section, “Open yourself to the universe, and it’ll come rushing in…you can do it.”

Sam Heughan, who co-starred with Dion but was not affected by the stiff-person disease, informed Entertainment Weekly that filming occurred in 2020, during the COVID-19 epidemic, before the singer was afflicted.
He explained that the green screen and editing wizardry helped make his scenes with Dion “work out.” “We were in our own bubble in the U.K., and Celine was in Canada,” Heughan explained.
“It was difficult, but I think they did some great magic in the movie, and I think those scenes worked out,” he concluded. The new film will contain five songs by Dion, including her current radio smash, “Love Again.”
Stiff Person Syndrome
In December 2022, Celine Dion revealed that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome. Several of the concerts she had planned for this Spring and Summer had to be postponed or canceled once she received her diagnosis.
Céline Dion shared a post on Instagram. She said: reschedules Spring 2023 shows to 2024 and cancels eight of her summer 2023 shows.
Muscle stiffening, especially in the trunk, limbs, and feet, is a hallmark symptom of stiff-person syndrome, a rare, degenerative neurological condition described by the National Cαncer Institute.
“Only one or two people per million,” as stated by Johns Hopkins Medicine, are afflicted by this condition. The Grammy-winning singer’s famous pals have provided encouragement and support since she made her health situation public.

Priyanka Chopra Jonas told People magazine during a New York City screening of “Love Again” that she wished her co-star “so much love and luck” and “knew she wanted to be here,” but that she was “just so happy,” she was in the film. Dion was absent at the premiere.
Muscle “locking up and becoming stiff as a board,” as described by Johns Hopkins Medicine, is a symptom of the illness.
“More commonly, it affects women, usually starting in the 40s or 50s.” According to Dr. Andrew McKeon, who spoke with the Mayo Clinic, “More than 50% of patients have a coexisting non-neurological autoimmune disease, such as Type 1 diabetes or autoimmune thyroid disease.”
