During her Eras Tour, Taylor Swift will be treated like a celebrity. In advance of Swift’s appearance at Paycor Stadium this weekend as part of her Eras Tour, Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval proclaimed June 30 Taylor Swift Day on Tuesday. Prior to her Eras Tour engagement in Cincinnati, Taylor Swift will enjoy a legal holiday.

Here’s what the proclamation says:

“Whereas, the City of Cincinnati proclaims that it is ‘Ready for It,’ and will roll out the hospitality red carpet for all Swifties; and, “Whereas, Taylor Swift is a ‘Mastermind’ bringing thousands of Swifties to Cincinnati; and,

“Whereas, as Taylor Swift would say, ‘I Know Places’ that bring people together to share love and friendship bracelets, shed tears and sing about ‘Coney Island’; and,

“Whereas, let Taylor Swift be ‘The Story of Us’ as she performs two sold-out concerts at Paycor Stadium, near The Banks in downtown Cincinnati. Long story short, it will be enchanted, and sparks will fly.”

What Happened on July 9 Taylor Swift?

Since the beginning of her Eras tour in March, Swift has inserted a few surprise songs into each setlist. Swift’s 74 additional songs (to date) range from “Tim McGraw” to “Paper Rings,” “Snow on the Beach,” and “Welcome to New York,” and have sparked a frenzy among fans or deep despair for those who could only watch the unique moments in fan-made videos.

One of the songs she sang on Saturday at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis was “Dear John,” a ballad she has not performed since 2012 in Auckland, New Zealand.

With biting lyrics like, “You’ll add my name to your long list of traitors who don’t understand/And I look back in regret how I ignored when they said, ‘run as fast as you can.'” the six-plus minute song from her 2010 “Speak Now” album is well known as a response to her brief romance with John Mayer in 2009.

On July 7, she intends to release “Taylor’s Version” of “Speak Now.” Swift’s massive tour will stop in Cincinnati this weekend for two performances before continuing west through July. The U.S. leg will conclude on August 9 with five performances at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Beginning on August 24 in Mexico City, Swift is also touring the world with her Eras spectacular. Between February and August 2024, the tour will stop in Japan, Australia, Singapore, and Europe.
