Guts Olivia Rodrigo Release Date
Buckle up in case a dejected female falls. In September, Grammy-winning artist Olivia Rodrigo—best known for her 2021 smash single “Drivers License”—will drop her much-awaited sophomore album.
For “GUTS,” which will be released on September 8, the singer-actor is reuniting with her longtime partner Dan Nigro, Geffen Records said on Tuesday. Her multiplatinum debut album, “SOUR,” earned Rodrigo three Grammy Awards.
Olivia Rodrigo shared a post on her Instagram:
“For me, this album is about growing pains and trying to figure out who I am at this point in my life,” Rodrigo said in a press release. “I feel like I grew 10 years between the ages of 18 and 20—it was such an intense period of awkwardness and change. I think that’s all just a natural part of growth, and hopefully, the album reflects that.”
On Friday, June 30, “Vampire,” the opening track from Rodrigo’s second album, “GUTS,” will be made available.
“Drivers License,” a pop power ballad by Rodrigo that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 100 and held that position for eight weeks, was released in January 2021. She even got a viral “Saturday Night Live” parody comedy with actor Regé-Jean Page from Bridgerton for the song, which became the first in history to reach 80 million Spotify streams in seven days.
