Netflix surprised us by announcing that The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 will be released in two parts. The first part arrives on July 6, followed by the second part on Aug. 3, both scheduled for summer 2023.
Filming for Season 2 began in the fall of 2022 and concluded on March 28, 2023. With at least five or six months dedicated to post-production, we can expect a polished and thrilling viewing experience.

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2: Familiar Faces and Fresh Talent Join the Cast
In the upcoming season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer, we can expect to see some familiar faces and some new additions to the cast. The core regulars will include Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, Neve Campbell as Maggie McPherson (in a recurring role), Becki Newton as Lorna, Jazz Raycole as Izzy, Angus Sampson as Cisco, and Krista Warner as Hayley Haller.
However, Christopher Gorham, who played Mickey’s client Trevor Elliott in the first season, is not expected to return. According to Deadline, there will be a few new cast members joining for season 2, including Matt Angel as Henry Dahl, Lana Parrilla, and Yaya DaCosta.
What Book is The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Based On?
If you’re wondering which book serves as the inspiration for The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2, we’ve got the details for you. While the 2011 film adaptation focused on the first Mickey Haller book, the Netflix series takes its cues from the second book in the series: The Brass Verdict.
Prior to the renewal announcement, it remained uncertain whether the series would follow the book order for future seasons. However, if they do, the next book in line for Season 2 would be The Reversal.
According to Variety, The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 will consist of 10 episodes and will be based on the book The Fifth Witness, which happens to be the fourth book in the series. With a total of six Mickey Haller books written by author Michael Connelly, the Netflix series still has five more books to draw from.
Additionally, the character of Mickey Haller also makes appearances in several Bosch books, potentially opening the door for even more thrilling adaptations
