Jessica Simpson has addressed the rumors surrounding her supposed use of Ozempic for weight loss. In a recent interview with Bustle, published on July 5, Simpson set the record straight on the topic when asked about her transformation.
“Oh Lord. I mean, it is not (Ozempic),” she said about her weight loss. “It’s willpower. I’m like, do people want me to be drinking again? Because that’s when I was heavier. Or they want me to be having another baby? My body can’t do it.”
Simpson, who stopped drinking alcohol in 2017, said that hearing so much bad stuff about herself from fans “hurts,” but she said she won’t let it stop her from moving on with her life.

“Am I going to let the negativity derail me? No, I’m too old for that. I am too connected to myself right now to let that derail me,” she said. “It doesn’t mean that it doesn’t hurt.”
Simpson said about her body that she’s “fortunate to have been every size” because it helps her “brand, understand the women (who buy our products), and for my psyche,” she said.
Fans were quick to comment on Simpson’s weight and general look when she did a paid post for Pottery Barn Kids in late 2022. When people saw her in the video, they wanted to know how she was doing and if she was healthy. At about the same time, some people on Twitter began to think that Simpson was using Ozempic to lose weight.
Ozempic is a medicine that doctors prescribe to treat Type 2 diabetes. It has gained recent attention for its potential to aid in weight loss. The medication functions by releasing a synthetic version of a hormone that your body naturally produces after eating. This hormone helps you feel full more quickly and reduces cravings for food.
Novo Nordisk, the company that makes Ozempic and its sister drug Wegovy, said in a statement, before that it does not support using its drugs in ways that are not approved by the FDA.
“We do not promote, suggest, or encourage off-label uses of our medicines,” the company said in a statement. “We trust that healthcare providers are evaluating a patient’s individual needs and determining which medicine is right for that particular patient.”

Some famous people, like Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s daughter Gracie McGraw, have said they use the drug. Gracie McGraw said she was given it to help with her polycystic ovary syndrome, which can cause weight gain.
Dolores Catania from “Real Housewives of New Jersey” also said she was taking Mounjaro, which is a similar drug that can help you lose weight. Recently, actress Amy Schumer said she tried Ozempic but had to stop because it made her sick.
