Ashes Villain Alex Carey haircut

Did Alex Carey Forget to Pay for His Haircut? Fact Check!

Alex Carey, who is known as the “Ashes villain” by the English media for a controversial stumping incident involving Jonny Bairstow, is making headlines once again. This time, a barber from Leeds has claimed that Carey had a haircut at his shop but did not pay for it.

According to a report from The Sun, Carey visited Doc Barnet’s Barber Shop in Leeds along with his teammates David Warner and Usman Khawaja. While Warner and Khawaja posed for photos and paid for their haircuts, Carey refused to take a photo and left without paying.

The barber, Adam Mahmood, stated that Carey claimed he didn’t have any cash and promised to transfer the money instead. However, Carey has yet to transfer the £30 owed for the haircut.

“I’m still waiting,” Mahmood said in an interview with The Sun. “They came in just before closing time, we cut their hair, and had a great time. But we don’t accept card payments, and Alex said he didn’t have any cash on him. There’s a Tesco cash machine just around the corner that he could have used.”

Mahmood also mentioned that Carey could have easily returned to the shop with cash from the nearby ATM in less than five minutes. Instead, Carey said he would make a bank transfer.
