Margot Robbie, who plays Barbie, is aware of her likeness to “S*x Education” actress Emma Mackey, to the point where she thought it would be amusing to play it up in Warner Bros.’ upcoming movie based on the Mattel doll.

On July 21, “Barbie” opens in theaters.
“She plays one of the Barbies in the movie pretty much because Greta and I thought it would be funny,” about her conversation with “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig, Robbie spoke to BuzzFeed.
“We were gonna do this whole joke about us looking similar,” Robbie added. The joke was dropped when Robbie and Mackey realized they didn’t look exactly the same when they first encountered one another on set. In the “Barbie” film, Mackey doesn’t have blonde hair, which makes it simpler to distinguish the two actors.
“Once we got all dressed up as our Barbies, we were kind of like, ‘We don’t actually look that similar,'” Robbie said. “So, we didn’t put that joke in the movie.”
However, Robbie claimed that she frequently encounters admirers who mistake her for Mackey. She just goes along with it rather than correcting them.
“When people come up and say, ‘I loved you in ‘S*x Education,’ I just say ‘Thank you. Thank you so much,'” Robbie said.
