Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Dr. Chris Featherstone can confirm that former WWE Superstar Mike Halac, alias Mantaur, passed away following a back injury. Halac fell on Tuesday and was brought to the hospital.
At first, the former wrestler thought he might have fractured his sixth (T-6) or seventh (T-7) thoracic vertebrae. He regrettably died in his sleep hours later at the age of 55.

Although Mike Halac is better known to WWE fans as Mantaur, he spent the majority of his career going by the name Bruiser Mastino. Before the September 22, 1997, episode of WCW Nitro, Halac defeated Damien in a dark match while assuming the guise of Mastino.
He competed in the ring for the USWA and ECW, among other American outfits. Halac competed in independent matches frequently outside of the United States. After leaving WWE, he also participated in a large number of matches in Austria and Germany.
