In April 2007, Emmy-winning meteorologist Elise Finch joined the CBS New York weather team. Ms. Finch moved to CBS from NBC, where she served as a meteorologist for the “Early Today Show,” MSNBC, and NBC Weather Plus.
Before joining NBC, Ms. Finch worked as the weekend weather anchor for the Phoenix, Arizona, CBS affiliate. Prior to that, she served as an anchor and reporter for the ABC network in Austin, Minnesota, as well as the CBS and FOX affiliates in Youngstown, Ohio. Finch started her career in television working behind-the-scenes at E! Entertainment Television as a production coordinator for special initiatives and live events.
Elise Finch Death
On July 16, 2023, Elise Finch, a weather reporter for WCBS, passed away. The cause of death has not yet been determined. Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard revealed the tragic information on Facebook.
She wrote,
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend Elise Dione Finch Henriques on July 16, 2023.
Elise was a beloved daughter of Mount Vernon who proudly served as an ambassador for our community. She worked for WCBS news for 16 years as a meteorologist.
Elise was the Daughter of James and Charlette Finch, Sister of Kiya Finch-Roberts, Mother of Grace and Wife of Graig Henriques. Please keep the family in your prayers.
Details for her celebration of life are forthcoming.”
Elise was a beloved daughter of Mount Vernon and a proud ambassador of the area. She spent 16 years working as a meteorologist for WCBS News. Elise was the sister of Kiya Finch-Roberts, the mother of Grace, the wife of Graig Henriques, and the daughter of James and Charlette Finch. Please keep the family in your prayers. The media industry is paying tribute to Elise Finch, a well-known meteorologist who died suddenly at the age of 51. Co-anchor Jessica Moore shared a heartfelt tribute to Finch on social media on Sunday night.
Elise was fiercely loyal to those she loved, a straight shooter, a consummate professional, and made me laugh until I cried.
