On Thursday night, July 20, three people were shot and killed in the city’s Olney neighborhood, including the son of well-known local rapper and podcaster Gillie Da King.
Just before 8:30 p.m., a shooting took place close to the intersection of Mascher Street and Nedro Avenue.
Police arrived and discovered two gunshot victims, including Devin Spadey, 25, who had been shot in the back, about a block away. Spadey was declared dead at Einstein Medical Center after they had taken those two there.
The 25-year-old victim was YNG Cheese, Gillie’s son, according to numerous witnesses who were present at the crime scene.

Wallo, Gillie’s cousin and cohost on the podcast, wrote on Instagram-

Gillie has also been known as Gillie Da Kid. The other two victims of the incident, a 28-year-old guy and a 31-year-old man, are both in stable condition at Einstein.
Police are still investigating who shot these three individuals and why. We haven’t heard from Gillie yet. He’ll be hosting Gillie Fest at Franklin Music Hall next Saturday night. There will be a concert and a comedy show to celebrate his birthday.
