An insurance industry executive and graduate of Great Neck North, Ned Dubofsky passed away last week at 54. Ned Dubofsky died on February 8, 2023, in Port Washington, New York, due to a catastrophic accident.

After leaving Great Neck North High School in 1987, Dubofsky attended and eventually completed his studies at George Washington University. He had been a Camp Winaukee member his entire life.

He served as NFP’s vice president of business development. NFP owns BWD Sports and Entertainment, which services sports leagues, owners, and athletes. On February 12, Temple Beth Shalom in Roslyn hosted Dubofsky’s burial, where the family could share pleasant and sorrowful memories.

His wife Lindsay remarked, “Ned was my life,” during the funeral. “He was the funniest, craziest, most obsessive, determined, magnetic but sensitive and thoughtful person I knew. Ned had such a vast, magical presence people gravitated to him naturally.”

Ned’s love for her and their two girls always came first, according to Lindsay in her eulogy. At Ned’s funeral, which was attended by a packed temple, Rabbi Paul Resnick expressed his hope that the neighbourhood would continue to stand behind Ned’s family.

“My first prayer for the family is that this support, this comfort, this love that is here in this room, stays with the family tomorrow, next week, next month and for eternity, as this family will remember Ned every day of their lives,” Rabbi Resnick said at his funeral. Casey, Charlie, and Ned’s wife, Lindsay Dubofsky, are his surviving children.
