Taylor Swift, who is a really famous and loved singer from America, has been in the news a lot lately. People have been talking about her for a long time because of things like her big concert tour called The Eras and also for bringing out a new version of one of her albums. She always gets a lot of attention.
But guess what? Fans of Taylor Swift in Belgium, who call themselves Belgian Swifties, are super, super happy. It’s because they not only get to listen to her awesome songs but they also get to learn about her.
There’s this university in Belgium called Ghent University, and they’re now offering a special class where they teach all about Taylor Swift’s music and stories. How cool is that?

What’s Taylor Swift’s Literature Course All About?
This course is called ‘Literature: Taylor’s Version‘ and it’s going to start in the fall. It’s a special class you can choose to take, and it’s all about looking at famous old-time writers and their cool writing styles, but from the point of view of popular American music stars like Taylor Swift.
This is only the second university, after one in Stanford, that’s offering a course like this based on Taylor Swift. If you’re studying for a Master’s degree, you can pick this class. A British teacher named Elly McCausland is going to teach it.
She says it’s going to show how interesting and exciting old English stories can be. She also says it’s super important to study modern female stars.
You know how Taylor Swift gets her ideas from old books? Well, this course is going to help students understand how her songs are connected to those old stories.
Another university called Stanford had a course this year about Taylor Swift’s songs, and even before that, in 2022, New York University started a class all about her, making Taylor the first to be studied in a classroom like this.
