Peluso’s family confirmed to the playbill that the performer died unexpectedly on August 15. He is survived by his wife Jessica Gomes, whom he married in 2018, and his two small children, Aria Li and Caio Lian. Aria Le Peluso, the couple’s first child, was born on January 21, 2021.

In order to break free from the grasp of his illness, he valiantly embarked on a course of rehabilitation in 2022. The situation surrounding Chris Peluso’s untimely death has revealed a deeply personal and difficult fight.
He fought the weight of schizoaffective disease heroically for more than a decade, a battle that was intermingled with his charisma, humor, genius, and kindness. This tough fight against the disorder was a monument to his fortitude, but it ultimately proved too much for him.
Chris’s schizoaffective illness sent him into a state of crippling paranoia, preventing him from continuing his renowned 18-year career in the performing arts.
This mental health condition infiltrated all aspects of his life, including his work life. In recent months, his paranoia had worsened to the point where he had to make the difficult decision to leave his loving wife and young child in order to seek treatment in the United States.
He entered a mental health rehabilitation clinic as an inpatient, where he faced a difficult scenario aggravated by a lack of health insurance coverage until October.
His treatment expenditures were enormous, estimated to be between $70,000 and $90,000, and they were worsened by the burden of increasing hospital bills. Despite his family’s kind support, the financial burden remained unbearable.
In order to aid Chris’s healing path, a GoFundMe campaign was launched to collect the resources needed for his treatment and to reduce financial troubles.
Despite everyone’s best efforts, they were unable to save his life. Unfortunately, the actor died after a protracted battle, leaving behind a bereaved family and friends.
