Logan Paul One of the most powerful influencers in the world, Paul is a one-man brand whose impact extends across a variety of industries, including podcasts, sugar water, and wrestling. A crypto-based videogame that promised the Earth (or, at least, that it would exist), made millions, and now appears to be a scam has overshadowed one of the shadier aspects of Paul’s recent past. He and fellow influencer KSI recently scored a major mainstream hit with their endorsement of an energy drink called Prime.
The entire CryptoZoo scam was discovered in January of this year by investigative journalist CoffeeZilla, or, as we put it at the time, Logan Paul just did too many shady things to fit in this title. That’s because, in the aftermath of the extensive investigation into this plan, Paul threatened to sue the journalist before having second thoughts (or being convinced to have them), apologizing, and admitting guilt before giving reimbursements.
Paul confessed at the time-
“I deleted my initial response to Coffee’s series. It was rash and misaligned with the true issue at hand, so I called him today and apologized… I’m grateful he brought this to light. I will be taking accountability, apologizing, and coming forward with a plan in the near future.”
That proposal included a promised $1.8 million of Paul’s own money going toward refunding CryptoZoo backers via a system in which any crypto assets purchased from the game would be purchased back at a certain price. Isn’t it true that all’s well that ends well?

Six months later, it does not appear to be the case. Paul has gone on to his most profitable enterprises, namely making public appearances to shill Prime, and has simply decided to ignore the CryptoZoo incident and like it never happened. Rich people do this by proclaiming their good intentions through a legal firm.
Yes! You couldn’t make this stuff up. Coffeezilla, the journalist who investigated CryptoZoo and forced Paul to guarantee refunds, has now taken another look and, following Paul’s request the last time around that he make direct contact, has done so multiple times to inquire on the status of those refunds. The first three approaches were disregarded until he received a response from a law firm defending Paul in this matter on the fourth.
“We represent Logan Paul. Mr. Paul has informed us of your outreach about the status of the CryptoZoo egg buyback. Mr. Paul remains committed to this process. We are working with Mr. Paul to evaluate the best way to achieve this goal.”
So, Paul announced a return method that appears to be rather simple in the grand scheme of things. Buyback schemes are popular, Paul clearly has the cash (estimated net worth: $50-100 million), and it becomes self-evident that the ‘vision’ for CryptoZoo will never be realized.

Now, it appears that Paul is anticipating that enough time has gone by that he can simply move on without the refunds and employ a law firm to stonewall any annoying queries. I’ve inquired to them about refunds and will keep you updated if they respond.

Another controversy has been added to the list. Paul’s success has come despite a number of incidents that may have ruined other people’s careers, most notably a 2017 video that revealed the body of someone who had presumably committed suicide in Japan’s Aokigahara forest (Paul eventually apologized). In fact, CrytpoZoo isn’t even his first dubious crypto link, with the influencer previously promoting the cryptocurrency Dink Doink, which has since been delisted.
The CryptoZoo website is still operational, although it is “undergoing upgrades to the core infrastructure of the ecosystem.” I’m confident it’ll happen soon. Despite the fact that its face appears to want to wash his hands of the whole issue, the marketplace stays open.
