Gunplay, real name Richard Morales Jr., was arrested on Sunday, August 20 in Miami. The rapper was detained on several charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, and child abuse. He is accused of pointing a firearm at his wife as she held their six-month-old child. The bond for Gunplay has been set at $20,000.
Reporter Andy Slater confirmed the arrest on Twitter, writing-
JUST IN: Rapper ‘Gunplay’ was arrested in Miami. He’s accused of pointing a rifle at his wife while she was holding their 6-month-old baby, law enforcement sources tell me. This allegedly happened after his wife told him to quiet down while playing Xbox. Gunplay denies it all.

Vonshae Taylor-Morales, Gunplay’s wife, addressed the event on social media and stated she has acquired a restraining order. She has also stated that she is in the process of divorcing. She said-
I just want everyone to know my daughter and I are safe. My daughter safety is my first priority. Unfortunately Richard is back using and developed a very bad drinking problem. I’ve tried everything in my power to help him and love him. This is a demon he has to overcome on his own. At this point I really believe it’s too late.
Taylor-Morales then acknowledged that the conflict began over Gunplay’s Call of Duty game.
To summarize last night event. I asked Richard to quiet down as he scared the baby sleeping by yelling playing call of duty. He started going off on me for asking him to be quiet. I tried collect a bag so my daughter and I can go to a room while he sobers up.
He didn’t want us to leave and things went left fast. He was arrested last night, the weapon is in police custody. I have a restraining order, my daughter is in my custody and I am filing for divorce. He will never get he chance to disrespect us again.

The gun was also taken into custody by police as the rapper was arrested. Authorities have discovered that, in addition to child abuse, domestic violence, and aggravated battery accusations, the rapper is also facing false imprisonment charges, and the situation has gotten more dangerous for him due to his unlawful and unauthorized firearm.

Gunplay’s Wife Has Filed for Divorce
Gunplay found himself in hot water after being arrested in response to his wife’s accusation. According to the wife, he had been drinking heavily, which caused him to get violent with her and their daughter, resulting in the rapper pointing a firearm at the mother and daughter.
She further indicated that she would file for divorce as a result of this occurrence. Richard Morales, better known as Gunplay, was born in July 1979. The rapper was born and raised in Texas and experienced numerous drug-related crimes during his adolescence due to his involvement in drug distribution. He was later introduced to rap, and so his musical adventure and career began.
He is best known for his smash albums Port of Miami and Trilla. He is also known to have collaborated with various musicians and celebrities such as Lil Wayne and Pharell Williams. Richard, aka Gunplay, rose to prominence after signing a solo deal with Def Jam and releasing numerous mixtapes with Kendrick Lamar.
The rapper is currently in police custody, and authorities have yet to provide more information regarding his case, trials, and bail. The rapper’s team has not yet commented on the situation.
