What Happened to Reggie Chaney?
There was little information released concerning his death. At the time of his death, he was 23 years old. His relatives and friends are not sharing any statements with the media. The public is still waiting for more information and details concerning his untimely death.
He was supposed to join the AE Psychiko, a professional basketball team in Greece. Chaney spent two seasons with the Arkansas Razorbacks before transferring to the University of Houston, where he spent three seasons.
This was his final season with the Cougars, and he was selected as the American Athletic Conference’s Sixth Man of the Year. Chaney, a Tulsa, Oklahoma native, was a member of the 2021 University of Houston team that advanced to the NCAA Final Four.
“I’ve always said, ‘Reggie, you’re my security blanket,'” says Reggie. According to KHOU-11, Cougars head coach Kelvin Sampson remarked about Chaney in March.

Chaney played in over 100 games for the University of Houston despite having hand, knee, and back ailments.

Members of the University of Arkansas athletic community reacted to the news as well. Arkansas head coach Eric Musselman told WholeHogSports that “The Razorback men’s basketball program is devastated to hear of the loss of Reggie Chaney.”
Musselman said-
“He was a relentless worker and loved by his coaches and teammates. His family is in our thoughts and prayers.”
Mason Jones, a former Razorbacks player, also paid respect to Chaney on X. He wrote-
