Liam Fisher a man from North Vancouver who was studying medicine in Grenada has been found dead. He had gone missing for four days.
The police in Grenada reported that Liam Fisher, who was 35 years old, was last seen on Saturday, September 9th.
He was participating in a run with a group called the Grenada Hash House Harriers, which is a fun running group that mixes beer with long-distance running.
Six hours after the police first said he was missing, they found a man’s body in the same area where the run was happening. They were trying to figure out if it was Liam and what caused his death.

Family’s Heartbreaking Announcement
Liam Fisher’s family later posted on social media that he had passed away.
“We are completely devastated by the loss of our beautiful son Liam Fisher. He loved life and he worked so hard to be the person he wanted to be and to help others on their journeys. He crammed so much living in. We love you Liam 💔,” it read.

Liam’s Sporting Achievements and MVMT Academy
Fisher was from Pemberton and was a very good player in many sports. He also worked as a strength coach. Fisher started the MVMT Academy in North Vancouver, which helped train young players, before he went to medical school.
Grenada Hash House Harriers members, along with other students and helpers, were looking for Fisher, according to posts on their Facebook page. One post says that members of the search party found Fisher’s hat along the runners’ path.
Fisher had been a student at the country’s capital’s St. George’s University since 2022. Tuesday, the school sent out a press release asking everyone at the university to keep Fisher in their thoughts.
“SGU’s Department of Public Safety and Office of the Dean of Students are working closely with the Royal Grenada Police Force. An extensive investigation and search are underway,” their release stated. “Appropriate measures by the university administration are in place, such as the deployment of DPS personnel safety patrol and K-9 trained dogs and notification of the student’s emergency contact.”
Global Affairs Canada’s Statement
Global Affairs Canada put out a statement Wednesday in response to Fisher’s absence, before Fisher’s family said he had died.
“Global Affairs is aware that a Canadian citizen is unaccounted for in Grenada. Consular officials are in contact with local authorities and are providing consular assistance to the family,” it read. “Due to privacy considerations, no further information can be disclosed.”
