Married At First Sight will continue to pair couples based on their characteristics to see whether they can find common ground once married. With Season 14 coming to a close soon, the true question is whether the couples will stay together or split up. If they decide to stay together after the program, viewers will question if they can make it work.
With Season 13 having ended over a year ago, the couples on the show have had time to determine whether or not their pairing is truly a match made in heaven. The five couples, all of whom are from the Houston area, have had variable success in terms of how long their relationships have lasted.
Looking at them, viewers may be able to predict where the season 14 couples will go in the season finale and possibly beyond.
Zack Freeman and Michaela Clark
Zack and Michaela’s relationship went off to a rocky start, and it appeared that the two would never be able to recover. Their honeymoon, which is used in the show to allow the couples to get to know each other fully for the first time, had to be canceled due to Zack contracting COVID-19.
While Michaela wanted to stay married on decision day, Zach had other ideas, and the two’s relationship ended. They didn’t appear to be on good terms, as the two declined to speak or appear on stage together during the show’s annual reunion event. This marriage appeared to be finished before it ever began, as Zach and Michaela are no longer together.
Johnny Lam and Bao Huong Hoang
Fans of the show should not be surprised by this, given Bao and Johnny’s romance did not even make it to the end of the season. During the season finale, Bao gently requested a divorce from Johnny, effectively ending their relationship.
These two appeared to have the most promise, given they were previously acquainted in college. Johnny, on the other hand, committed numerous blunders throughout the marriage, such as gossiping about Bao behind her back to one of Bao’s acquaintances.
Viewers were certainly vocal about this behavior, as the two became an unpopular couple among fans. Despite this, the two were friendly at the reunion and wished each other well. This revealed that there was no rekindling and that the two were no longer together.

Gil Cuero and Myrla Féria
Gil and Myrla were the two couples on this season’s show that both opted to stay married after the show’s conclusion. They eventually moved in together, offering optimism that their love was legitimate. The two had a rocky start, with regular squabbles, but they eventually declared their love for each other.
Unfortunately, the two received devastating news during their reunion. They were divorced, and Myrla stated, “He’s an amazing person, he’s handsome, everything.” But we’re just not meant to be.”
The two went on to claim that the first emotional connection was lacking and that even though they eventually built one, they both felt it was a bit forced and would not be worth it in the long run. They are still separated and are not together to this day.
Ryan Ignasiak and Brett Layton
Anyone who followed the show should not be surprised by this because Brett and Ryan were a bad match from the beginning. Any amount of trust that the two may have previously developed was badly damaged when Ryan was discovered utilizing dating apps while the two were getting to know one another. The couple opted to divorce on decision day, therefore they didn’t even make it to the season’s end as a married couple.
The two said they were on good terms and considered each other friends at the season cast reunion, despite a few dubious incidents. Despite Ryan’s admission that he wished they had “the tough conversations” that were required, they were content with the state of their relationship. Despite their friendly relationship, the two are separated today.
Jose San Miguel and Rachel Gordillo
The other four pairs of lovebirds from season 13 had already called it quits, making these two the last remaining couple. Fans have some reason to believe that at least one marriage will endure because the two were still legally wed as of December 2021. Unfortunately, the couple revealed their divorce in a statement to People.
The decision was not reached lightly, they claimed, but they came to the conclusion that “this decision best serves our future.” As Rachel revealed in the reunion episode, the two did experience a few bumps in their relationship.
