The Wheel of Time Season 3

The Wheel of Time Season 3 Possible Release Date: Unveiling the Next Chapter

In the unlikely event that you missed it, We are enamored with The Wheel of Time’s second season, which premiered on Prime Video late last week. The fantasy series, which is based on the same-named book series by Robert Jordan, tells the story of Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), a member of the Aes Sedai, who sets out on a journey with five young people in the belief that one of them is the Dragon’s reincarnation, which will either save or destroy the world.

Even though the first three episodes of season two have just recently been released, many fans—including ourselves—are already curious as to whether this will be the final time we see the cast or if they’ll be back for a third.

Here is all the information we currently have for season three of The Wheel of Time.

Is There a Third Season of the Wheel of Time?

Good news!  Before the debut of season two this year, The Wheel of Time season three was already confirmed in July 2022, according to Variety.

The Wheel of Time’s showrunner, Rafe Judkins, made the big revelation at Comic-Con last year, saying:

“I’m so thrilled that we’ll be making a third season of ‘The Wheel of Time,’” said Rafe Judkins, series executive producer and showrunner. “The Shadow Rising has always been my favorite book in the series, so being able to bring it to television and introduce new audiences to the stories that made me fall in love with these books in the first place is such an honor, and something I’ve been working toward since I first pitched the show years and years ago.”

What Will the Wheel of Time Season 3 Cover?

Season three of The Wheel of Time will cover The Shadow Rising, the fourth novel in Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time trilogy, as previously stated by showrunner Rafe Judkins.

This is the official synopsis for The Shadow Rising:

The Stone of Tear, invulnerable fortress of legend, has fallen. The Children of the Dragon have risen to the call of prophecy and march to the aid of the Light. Callandor, the Sword That Is Not a Sword, is held by Rand al’Thor, the man proclaimed as the Dragon Reborn.

But still the shadows lengthen and still the Forsaken grow in strength. If he is to fight them, Rand must master the male half of the True Source, a power corrupted by the Dark One, a power that drives men to madness, a power that may save or damn the world.

The first season focused on the series’ first novel, The Eye of the World, while season two focused on the second and third books, The Great Hunt and The Dragon Reborn.

The Wheel of Time Season 3 Possible Release Date

Although season three of The Wheel of Time doesn’t yet have an official release date, based on the time that passed between seasons one and two, it seems like we could have to wait a bit.

The Wheel of Time’s past track record of releasing new seasons every two years suggests that season three won’t be available until at least 2025.
