Peppa Pig is only one example of the morbid fixation with twisting otherwise innocent children’s programming into something sinister and unsettling.
If you’ve spent much time online, you’ve probably heard about the horrifying viral fan theory that claims Angelica is psychotic and that The Rugrats are all just figments of her imagination.
This innovative, if unsettling, hypothesis has since inspired a great deal more of its kind: Ed, Edd n Eddy takes place in Purgatory, SpongeBob SquarePants is a result of nuclear testing done underwater, and Ash from Pokémon is in a coma.
Another wildly popular one is about Peppa Pig, a cherished cartoon from your youth that is going to give you nightmares. Yes, Peppa Pig and all of her family and friends do not genuinely reside in the cheerful, colorful world depicted on television; rather, they have all passed away in terribly unsettling ways.
This specific narrative starts with a claim that the author was given this ominous information by a producer on the program in a top-secret envelope. Online author animegeek00 has built a habit out of publishing creepy-as-hell renditions of childhood favorites.
And what is this information? The show is set in the afterlife, and “all the animals were based on dead children.”
How Did Peppa Pig Die?
The main character Peppa, in the author’s belief, was modeled after a sick little child who “spent her short life in a hospital bed” and endured such excruciating pain that her parents chose euthanasia.
She was poisoned by her parents as she dozed off, and she passed away dreaming about fairies, which is why Peppa Pig aspires to play a fairy in the cartoon. Have I disturbed you yet? Yes, things worsen.
Peppa’s parents killed their daughter, and they were unable to cope with their guilt, especially when George, Peppa’s younger brother, constantly asked where she was. Naturally, “Daddy Pig” then lost his cool. He killed himself, his wife, and his child with a knife.
How Did the Other Peppa Pig Characters Die?
There are plenty of such examples to follow: Suzy Sheep was struck by a truck while riding her bike, Mummy Sheep overdosed after turning to drugs to cope with the loss of her daughter, and Mr. Zebra passed away on the streets penniless.
Bullies at the schoolyard drowned Pedro Pony, and Madam Gazelle set her school on fire while trying to bake cookies, killing all of her students as well as herself.
If you have the stomach for it, you can read the complete version on Wattpad. But sometimes going to the movies is all you need to do to unearth frightening renditions of your childhood favorites. You don’t even need to search the murky recesses of the internet.
The first photos from the set of a Winnie-the-Pooh-based horror movie made headlines earlier this year, showing a psychotic Pooh and Piglet hog-tying and torturing an unsuspecting victim.

The once-loved figures have changed into “these kind of twisted, feral, and insane beings.” In a recent interview with Metro.co.uk, the show’s creator Rhys Frake-Waterfield said, “It’s altered their perception so much that they’re just absolutely deranged.”
“They just want to go around and cause loads of suffering… As the years have gone on they’ve struggled to survive” he said. Eventually, things were so bad that Pooh and Piglet had no choice but to murder and eat Eeyore because there was no food left in the forest.
