Cedric Jones’s Early Life and Childhood
Cedric’s childhood was spent in Georgia throughout the 1970s. He had a keen interest in theatre and demonstrated his abilities through ballet and ballroom dancing. He had already established himself as a professional dancer by the age of 17.
When it came time to make a critical career decision, Cedric chose Los Angeles over New York in order to pursue an acting career with the minimal funds he had.
However, three months later, he was homeless and unable to pay his rent. A stranger called Ethel Smith did him a favor by providing him a job at a temp agency. This act of kindness provided Cedric with a lifeline.
He was also grateful to a boxing teacher named Fausto De Latorre, who kindly gave him free instruction and frequently shared meals.
