Billy Eugene Self Jr. is an American basketball coach who was born on December 27, 1962. Since 2003, he has served as the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Kansas.
He has guided the Jayhawks to 17 Big 12 regular season titles in his 20 years as head coach, including an NCAA-record 14 straight titles, some of which were shared (2005–2018).
In addition, he has guided the Jayhawks to two NCAA titles—in 2008 and 2022—and three NCAA Final Four trips (in 2008, 2012, and 2022). In 2017, Self became a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

Playing Career
