The Bucks selected Brogdon 36th overall on June 23, 2016, in the NBA Draft. The Bucks signed him on July 30, 2016. He scored eight points and five assists in 21 minutes in his debut NBA game, the Bucks’ season-opening loss to the Charlotte Hornets (107-96) on October 26, 2016.
In a 117-113 win over the Pelicans on November 1, 2016, he had 14 points and four steals. He beat the Wizards 123-96 on December 23, 2016, by making all seven shots. Finished with 17 points and 7 assists.
On December 31, 2016, he recorded his first triple-double with 15 points, 12 assists, and 11 rebounds in a 116-96 win over the Chicago Bulls. He scored a career-high 22 points against the Washington Wizards on January 8, 2017, in a 107-101 loss.
