Colby Brock, a YouTuber, confirmed his diagnosis of testicular cancer in an emotional ‘life update’ post on Instagram. The 26-year-old social media celebrity turned to Twitter and Instagram to share his diagnosis following a recent hospital appointment.
Colby co-owns the YouTube channel Sam and Colby with his friend and fellow internet star Sam Golbach. Colby and Sam rose to prominence on the internet with their Vine channel, which amassed one million followers before being taken down. The duo has 10.9 million subscribers on their YouTube channel, while Colby has 2.9 million followers on his personal Instagram profile.
Colby’s social media post generated words of concern from his fan following, with many concerned after seeing the term ‘cancer’ in the post. The YouTuber told his viewers that he had surgery yesterday (Tuesday, February 7, 2023) and is attempting to remain positive in the face of his cancer diagnosis.
Colby reported feeling “bruise-like pain” in the area in November 2022 and finally seeing a doctor about it in January 2023. Surgeons eventually removed the afflicted testicle in February but said Colby wasn’t completely out of the woods, claiming there was a 35% chance the cancer might return.

Colby Brock Provides an Update on the Diagnosis of Testicular Cancer
On April 25, Colby received chemotherapy, which he described as the “craziest mental challenge of my life.” This round of chemo was scheduled to last 21 days, according to the YouTuber, but he had to get another round after his tumor indicators spiked again.
Colby returned to social media months later with big news: He is cancer-free. On July 9, the influencer shared this health update in a YouTube video and an Instagram post, detailing his journey through diagnosis, surgery, and chemotherapy.
Colby also said that ‘cold capping,’ which involves placing a very cold cap on a person’s head and changing it every 25 minutes, helped him preserve his hair during chemotherapy.
Sam, according to Colby, replaced his cold caps every day, and he was taught how to execute the experimental process by skilled professionals who flew out to advise him.
“Sam was by my side every single day, and every single thirty minutes he had to come undo all my straps and then put on a new cold cap for hours a day,” Colby said. “Who has a friend who would do that for them? I am so grateful. …I owe him everything. That man is my best friend.”
Colby then thanked his fans and linked them to a GoFundMe page he and Sam set up to raise awareness and funds for FCancer.
