When asked about her teenage love affair with Elvis, Presley responded in the affirmative. She used the occasion to address a long-running dispute over her romance with Elvis, specifically the fact that they began dating at the age of 14.

However, Elvis was just 24 years old at the time. When Elvis was in the service, he hosted a party in Germany where they famously first met. The two ended up attending the same party since Priscilla’s stepfather was also serving in the Air Force at the time and was stationed in Germany.

“It was very difficult for my parents to understand that Elvis would be so interested in me and why,” she said. “And I really do think it was because I was more of a listener. Elvis would pour his heart out to me in every way in Germany. His fears, his hopes, the loss of his mother, which he never, ever got over. And I was the person who really, really sat there to listen and to comfort him…Even though I was 14, I was actually a little bit older in life. Not in numbers. That was the attraction.”

Nevertheless, their lives remain inseparable. Priscilla continues to play a significant role in her ex-husband’s estate and contributed to the making of the two most recent Elvis movies: “Elvis,” which is nominated for a 2022 best picture award and stars Austin Butler in the title role; and “Elvis and Me,” a new biopic based on Priscilla’s autobiography and starring Cailee Spaeny as Priscilla and “Euphoria” star Jacob Elordi as Elvis. On November 3, it debuted.

Elvis was well-known in pop culture when he enlisted in the US Army. He has acted in four motion pictures, including “Jailhouse Rock,” and made three studio recordings.

“I was an impressionable 14-year-old when we first met.” “He was twenty-four,” Priscilla wrote in a People essay from 1985. She additionally described him as “more handsome than he appeared in films, younger and more vulnerable looking with his GI haircut.”

Priscilla claimed that they first connected at an Air Force buddy of Elvis’s, Currie Grant’s, party. She was first granted permission to attend the party for that reason.

What Was the Most Controversial Part of Elvis Presley and Priscilla Presley’s Relationship?

From a contemporary perspective, the most contentious aspect of Elvis Presley’s legacy is that, at the age of 24, he dated a 14-year-old. He never gave any thought to dating someone so young, though, when he and Priscilla were in a relationship.

Larry King interviewed Joe Esposito, a close friend of Elvis Presley, in 1992. Esposito was questioned about why Elvis wasn’t concerned about dating someone in their early teens during the interview.

“Because, you know, there was nothing going on at the time. They didn’t do anything. So, you know, they were friendly, just getting to know or talk to each other. And you know, I don’t know why it never scared him. It never frightened him.”

Regarding Esposito’s statement that “nothing was going on,” Priscilla Presley has disclosed that she kissed Elvis for hours during her early adolescent years. But Priscilla has always maintained that she didn’t have s*x with the well-known singer before she married Elvis.

Colonel Tom Parker was concerned that a certain aspect of Elvis and Priscilla’s relationship was too controversial, but it turned out that this had nothing to do with their age.

Priscilla’s mother and stepfather let her move live with the singer’s father and stepmother so that their daughter could have a close relationship with Elvis. But soon enough, Priscilla found herself living with Elvis in Graceland.

Priscilla was dubbed the “live-in Lolita” at the time since it was highly contentious to live together without a marriage. Colonel Tom Parker, the manager of the well-known singer, put pressure on Elvis to wed Priscilla in an attempt to head off what he perceived to be an impending scandal.
