Beverly Hills Cop 4 Release Date

Thirty years after Beverly Hills Cop III debuted in theaters in 1994, Axel Foley is scheduled to make a comeback in 2024. Beverly Hills Cop: Eddie Murphy will return to his cherished role as the Detroit detective in Axel Foley.

Netflix shared a post on Twitter:

Newcomers to the franchise, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taylour Paige, and Kevin Bacon, will be accompanied by some well-known faces. Bronson Pinchot returns as Serge Paul Reiser returns as Jeffrey, and Judge Reinhold and John Ashton return to Billy Rosewood and John Taggart. Test screenings of the upcoming Beverly Hills Cop film have not been held back by Netflix or producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

As previously mentioned, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley, which is scheduled for release in 2024, will star Murphy with fellow returnees Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, and Bronson Pinchot.

Franchise newcomers Taylour Paige (Hit the Floor) as Foley’s criminal defense attorney daughter, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Foley’s new partner, and Kevin Bacon as an LAPD special-unit officer are among the cast, according to Empire Magazine.

Two sequels, Beverly Hills Cop II (1987) and Beverly Hills Cop III (1994), came after that. In 2013, CBS made an attempt to revive the Beverly Hills Police franchise with a pilot with Brandon T. Jackson (Tropic Thunder) as Aaron, Axel Foley’s son. Although Murphy declined to have recurring roles on the show, the pilot apparently passed muster and eventually withered on the vine.

Beverly Hills Cop 3 Recap

A chop shop is where Detroit Police Department investigator Axel Foley will arrest a car theft ring. Axel cancels his SWAT backup and plans to raid with only his crew, unbeknownst to Inspector G. Douglas Todd.

Meanwhile, four men arrive at the chop shop to pick up a stolen box truck. The leader ensures the truck still contains its cargo—probably U.S. government crates—then executes the car thieves. When Axel and his team raid, the party is outgunned and prepared to flee.

Todd arrives shortly later and is slain by the commander. When the group flees in the box truck, Axel chases in one of the shop’s partially disassembled cars, but Secret Service Agent Steve Fulbright intercepts him and tells him the killer must stay on the run because the federal government is pursuing a larger scheme in which he is involved.

Following Todd’s funeral, Axel discovers that the murders left clues leading to Beverly Hills’ Wonder World, owned by “Uncle Dave” Thornton. Axel meets Billy Rosewood, now “Deputy Director of Operations for Joint Systems Interdepartmental Operational Command” (DDO-JSIOC), in Beverly Hills and meets Jon Flint, Billy’s new colleague after John Taggart’s retirement.

Flint tells his friend Ellis DeWald, Wonder World’s park security chief, that Axel is coming to investigate. Axel storms the park with Rosewood and Flint to prove his innocence after fleeing DeWald and taking Uncle Dave to Willshire Memorial Hospital.

After a hand-to-hand combat, Axel shoots and kills DeWald, avenging Inspector Todd. Agent Fulbright kills Sanderson at the print shop during the fight and tells Axel he was correct.

After a brief battle, Axel shoots and kills Agent Fulbright, who is linked with counterfeiters. After a full recovery, Uncle Dave honors Axel by creating a new Wonder World character named “Axel Fox” as Axel starts dating Janice.
