Born on July 23, 1973, Monica Samille Lewinsky is an American author and activist. Former intern at the White House, Monica Lewinsky rose to international prominence in the late 1990s after political controversy broke and US President Bill Clinton acknowledged that he had an affair with her. At the same time, she worked as an intern from 1995 to 1997.
The crisis that followed, including Clinton’s impeachment, was after that dubbed the Clinton-Lewinsky affair. After that, she tried her hand at a number of different things, such as creating a handbag line under her name, acting as an endorser for a diet program, and becoming a TV personality.

Scandal
Lewinsky said that between November 1995 and March 1997, she had nine intimate sessions in the Oval Office with President Bill Clinton. Her evidence stated that they were not s*xual encounters but rather fellatio and other s*xual practices.
Allegations of s*xual misbehavior have been made against Clinton in the past when he was the governor of Arkansas. Paula Jones, a former state employee of Arkansas, filed a civil case against him, claiming that he had harassed her s*xually.
During the discovery phase of Jones’s case, Lewinsky’s name came to light as Jones’ attorneys attempted to demonstrate a pattern of behavior by Clinton, including illicit s*xual connections with other government employees.
Because they believed Lewinsky was spending too much time with Clinton, they moved her from the White House to the Pentagon in April 1996. She was Chief Pentagon Spokesman Kenneth Bacon’s assistant at the Pentagon.
After Lewinsky revealed her relationship with Clinton to her coworker Linda Tripp, Tripp started secretly recording their phone calls in September 1997. She was fired from the Pentagon in December of 1997. In January 1998, Lewinsky filed an affidavit in the Paula Jones case in which she denied having ever had a s*xual connection with Clinton.
In that same case, she also tried to get Tripp to lie under oath. Tripp provided Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr with the tapes, which he used to further his probe into the Whitewater scandal.
Starr subsequently expanded the scope of his inquiry to look at potential perjury and subornation of perjury in the Jones case involving Lewinsky, Clinton, and other individuals in addition to the land use agreement in Arkansas.
Tripp notified literary agent Lucianne Goldberg about the recorded discussions. Additionally, she persuaded Lewinsky not to dry clean a blue garment that had been smeared with Clinton’s semen and to save the gifts that Clinton had given her during their relationship. Clinton denied having “a s*xual affair,” “s*xual relations,” or “a s*xual relationship” with Lewinsky while testifying.
