Blake Corum’s Career
In January 2020, Corum enrolled at the University of Michigan. Corum received recognition for his 4.0 grade point average and 4.4 40-yard sprints during his first semester at Michigan. Corum played in five games as a true freshman, averaging 2.2 yards per carry while rushing for 50 net yards.
Sports Illustrated predicted that Corum was going to have a breakthrough year before the 2021 campaign started. In the first two games of the 2021 campaign, Corum gained 282 yards through 35 carries in the passing game.
In addition to rushing for 141 yards on average each game, he also caught five receptions for 33 yards. He recorded a career-high 171 running yards and three touchdowns, including a touchdown run of 67 yards, against Washington. In the 2023 Big Ten Football Championship Game on December 2, 2023, Corum ran for 52 yards and two scores, marking his 55th career touchdown.
He became the first player since Denard Robinson to have consecutive 1,000-yard rushing seasons with 52 rushing yards in the game, taking him above 1,000 yards for the season. He equaled Anthony Thomas for the career record for Michigan’s most rushing touchdowns with two in the game.
