Faye Resnick Biography
Born on July 3, 1957, in Hutchison, Pennsylvania, Faye Denise Resnick is an American novelist, interior designer, and television personality. Her presence in the O.J. Simpson murder trial and her appearance on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are what made her most well-known.
Resnick stated that when she was younger, her father beat her frequently for wetting the bed. However, a report published in the October 20, 1994, L.A. Times revealed that her stepfather was the one who beat her, progressing from spankings to “hideous beatings” as she grew older.
Resnick claims that her mother disregarded her husband’s outbursts. Her mother was a budding journalist by night and a nurse by day. Faye’s youth was “even more chaotic” when she eventually became a prominent columnist who wrote about holistic treatment and then joined a Jehovah’s Witness.
Resnick describes her mother as a religious fanatic whose predictions that Armageddon would come in 1975 prompted Ms. Resnick to rush into her first sexual encounter beforehand.
After moving out of her family to live with an aunt in the Bay Area, Resnick (then known as Faye Hutchison) “was crowned Maid of Hayward in 1975, a moment captured in a newspaper photograph showing her on the verge of tears.” It was a kind of start, as Resnick put it, providing “both an ego boost and some career ideas.”
