Glenda Cleveland came to the attention of the public during the notorious O.J. Simpson murder trial in 1994 as a witness. Cleveland, who shared Nicole Brown Simpson’s neighborhood, gave important testimony regarding hearing loud noises the night of the murders.
The story of the trial was shaped in part by her account. However, information regarding Glenda Cleveland’s life and current location is still largely unknown. More recent sources should be consulted for the most up-to-date information.
Where is Glenda Cleveland Now?
Cleveland recalled the exchange in a 1991 television interview, saying, “He was let down as low as he could get.” That also applied to his grave. That is as low as it gets, as reported by TODAY.
Dahmer committed atrocities in Cleveland’s area, but Cleveland remained in her flat on 25th Street until 2009. She would respond, “I’m not going anywhere,” to her brother’s taunting question, “Why don’t you move away from that house on the haunted hill?” to which she’d reply, “I’m not going anywhere,” per USA Today.
She spent two years living in a new apartment just a few blocks away after moving, according to USA Today. She assisted her daughter with her nine children after her work in data entry was discontinued. According to USA Today, Cleveland also maintained his relationship with the Sinthasomphones and attended one of their sons’ weddings.
Cleveland passed away in 2011, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported. According to USA Today, Sandra Smith, her daughter, is employed as a nurse in Milwaukee.
Who is Glenda Cleveland?
According to Digital Spy, Glenda Cleveland was a neighbor who resided in the building next to Dahmer’s flat. Cleveland was one of nine children reared by parents who stressed the value of being honest and helping out when someone needed it on a Mississippi farm.
She told a reporter in 1991, “I don’t see any excuse for people not to care about other people,” according to USA Today. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, she was employed in data entry until her position was eventually removed.
Monster portrays Cleveland as Dahmer’s actual next-door neighbor; however, TODAY reports that Dahmer’s actual next-door neighbors in Milwaukee’s Oxford apartments—which have since been demolished—were Pamela and Vernell Bass.
According to The Baltimore Sun, Pamela remembered placing towels beneath her door to block out the foul odors coming from Dahmer’s residence. The Los Angeles Times stated that Dahmer’s justification at the time was that the meat he was keeping in his freezer had gone bad, and his freezer had malfunctioned.
And even though Cleveland didn’t live next door to Dahmer, she did observe the murderer’s unusual conduct and often reported it to the authorities. But wait, there’s more to that.
