Conan Grey’s Early Life
The son of a Japanese mother and a father of primarily Irish origins, Conan Lee Gray came into this world in Lemon Grove, California, on December 5, 1998. His family relocated to Hiroshima,
Japan when he was a baby so that he might receive medical treatment for his cancer-stricken grandfather. The return to California to be with his family followed his grandfather’s death.
When Gray was three years old, his parents split up, leaving him to be raised by his single mother. He opens up about his childhood memories of his parents’ breakup in a “Draw My Life” video.
Gray relocated twice in sixth grade alone, among nine times throughout his youth, due to his father’s military service. While in elementary school, he was the target of constant bullying due to his perceived “girlish” identity.
When Gray was a preteen, he moved to Georgetown, Texas, and he stayed there throughout his adolescence. The artist and musician owes a great deal to his upbringing in central Texas.
After receiving an acceptance letter from UCLA, he relocated to Los Angeles in September 2017. But after just two months, he left to start touring with Republic Records. New York was Gray’s new home in July 2021.
