The television personality was born on October 27, 1978, in Wellington, Florida, United States. Her parents divorced when she was very young. Stephanie Abrams’ family resided in West Palm Beach. She was primarily reared by her father, Berry Abrams. Her father was a physician who enjoyed science and the telescope.
They enrolled at the University of Florida, Gainesville. At university, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Geography with a Minor in Mathematics. She graduated with honors and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She later attended Florida State University in Tallahassee to earn her second degree, a Bachelor of Science in meteorology.

Stephanie Abram’s Career
Stephanie’s urge to study the weather began at a young age. Her father took her on educational travels. The adventures included viewing Halley’s Comet, touring Yellowstone National Park, and seeing moon eclipses in Europe and Hawaii. At this age, Abrams also loved attending the US Space Camp.
Her greatest motivation to research storms and natural disasters was from watching the devastation wrought by hurricanes. This occurred while she was a teenager. During her time at Florida State University, she practiced on-air forecasting at FSU-Live, a news and weather broadcast.
Abrams also served as a teaching assistant at Florida State University, where she instructed students in meteorology. After earning a degree in meteorology, she began her career as a morning meteorologist at WTXL, an ABC affiliate. She began working on-air for The Weather Channel in July 2003, serving as a reporter and fill-in until 2005.
In 2005, she co-hosted the Weekend View. Stephanie became an on-camera meteorologist the following year, co-hosting Abrams and Bettes, Beyond the Forecast, and Weather Centre. Mike Bettes served as her co-host throughout the program.
On July 20th, 2009, she began co-anchoring Wake Up With Al from the NBC studios in New York every weekday morning. Her co-anchor was Al Roker. At the same time, she occasionally filled in for Roker on Today and frequently appeared with Sam Champion on America’s Morning Headquarters.
The weather girl had the opportunity to report live from Vancouver from February 8th to February 28th, 2010, during the Winter Olympics. She collaborated with Roker for Wake Up With Al and AMHQ.
