Benaiah Fiu Cause of Death

Only a few hours after performing live with his band, a Gold Coast musician passed away in his sleep. The 32-year-old guitarist Benaiah Fiu and his band, Strange Motel, had played a show at a Burleigh Heads club the previous Friday night when his mother discovered him dead.

The cause of death is yet unknown. Mr. Fiu had created other bands over his career in music, such as Strange Motel, Paper, Sex Drive, and Friction Control.

After learning of his passing, Friction Control shared a slide show of photographs as part of a tribute on Instagram. “Until we meet again. Rest easy, brother,”  the caption read.

Hanisi, his “devastated” sister, also paid tribute to her “baby brother” on social media in the meantime. Ngahuai stated, “We said farewell to my baby brother Benaiah on Saturday, January 13.”

“I’m in excruciating agony and am devastated. There is a lot of affection for Benaiah and his life despite the awful morning, intense emotions, and unceasing weeping.”

“Benaiah had such an incredible whole life. He was incredibly intentional, had a great deal of influence, performed, sang, and wrote with such passion, and did whatever he pleased.

… It’s an honor and a privilege to be your sister. I’m not ready to say goodbye.” Mr. Fiu posted a promotion for his upcoming last engagement on Facebook the day before he passed away.

“Tonight! We got Tapered LTD, Strange Motel, Boiling Hot Politician, and Antenna rockin out from 7 pm onwards down at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse,” he wrote.

Since then, condolences have been left below, one from a buddy who recalled childhood memories. “RIP Benny! Never forget the primary school days, building jumps, getting up to mischief, and going to church with you and your family! Rest easy, brother.”

He would “always be remembered,” said a second. On Monday, Robina will host Mr. Fiu’s burial. Three days later, there will be a “paddle out” in memory of his “love for the ocean.”
