On Thursday, February 15, 2024, a 16-year-old fan of Taylor Swift named Meika Pokarier sadly passed away in a car crash. This happened while she and her family were traveling from the Gold Coast to Melbourne in Australia because Meika wanted to see Taylor Swift’s concert.
During their journey, the car Meika and her family were in hit a large truck. Meika was sitting in the front next to the driver, and her sister Freya was in the back seat. Unfortunately, Meika died because of the crash. Her mom and sister got hurt but survived.
After the accident, they were quickly taken to Dubbo Hospital for treatment. Meika’s mom, Kim, and her sister Freya had serious injuries. Freya was in a very critical condition, in a coma with brain swelling and damage to her organs. She also had a broken leg and possibly a broken shoulder. The truck driver was injured too but is now in stable condition.
