Crunchyroll’s president, Rahul Purini, revealed in an interview with The Verge’s Decoder podcast that they’re experimenting with using artificial intelligence (A.I.) to improve subtitling and closed captioning.
The goal is to speed up the process of releasing subtitles in multiple languages closer to the original Japanese anime release dates.
They’re also trying out A.I. to help users personalize their experience and discover new titles, along with using it for various workflows within the company.
