Siphiwe Mkhonza, who used to play for Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana, has sadly died at the age of 45. Siphiwe Mkhonza passed away on March 5, 2024, at the age of 45 because of kidney infection. Before investigation it wasn’t clear what was his cause of death, but later, his family shared that he had a kidney infection. Some videos on YouTube also mention this.

Mkhonza started his career with Celtic in 1999. Later, he played for Ria Stars and Lamontville Golden Arrows before joining Chiefs in 2004. In 2007, he left Chiefs and played for SuperSport United, Maritzburg United, AmaZulu, and Black Leopards.
After retiring from playing, he worked as an analyst on SABC. Siphiwe Mkhonza was born in a place called Kwa-Thema, in Springs. His mother’s name is Mavis Motsile, and his father is Joseph Mkhonza. Joseph was the coach of South Africa’s women’s soccer team and led them during the 2012 Summer Olympics.
Siphiwe played soccer for Kaizer Chiefs, a famous team in Soweto, from 2004 to 2007. He won his first league championship in his first year there. Because of this, he played for the national team for the first time.
